Today (Feb. 3) is the start of the Chinese New Year celebrations. It is also the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit. So who better to welcome in the Chinese New Year than David Cameron. Wait, what?
I can’t quite believe how terrible this Chinese New Year message from David Cameron is. He uses it as an opportunity to push his government’s agenda for spending cuts and frugality, and even mentions his “in it together” bullshine.
he then goes on to praise the Chinese community in the U.K., which is great, but focuses entirely on their hard work and enterprise efforts. Because clearly careers are all-important in Cameron’s Britain.
I wish everyone who celebrates it a Happy Chinese New Year, and I’m sorry that the British prime minister saw fit to hijack the event for his own ends.
