Cinco de Mayo is almost upon us, a week away at the time of writing. What better way to celebrate than startling random passers-by with impromptu performances from a mariachi band?
Ever May 5, people across the U.S., and more recently the rest of the world, celebrate Cinco de Mayo, which recognized Mexican heritage and pride. eating, drinking, and partying is the order of the day.
This video shows how Ellen commemorated Cinco de Mayo last year: by hiring a mariachi band to jump out on unsuspecting strangers. Once they move to the toilets the victims are a little shocked.
Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day, which is actually on Sept. 16. But this is celebration that those of us who aren’t Mexican tend to enjoy. A bit like the Irish and St. Patrick’s Day.
