Years before Jon Stewart was making fun of George Bush or even hosting The Daily Show, he was known for being a political stand-up comedian. Oddly enough, the jokes he talked about more than a decade ago are just as relevant today.
Usually when one thinks of classic stand-up performances they think of comedians like Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphy because their subject matter isn’t mostly political, and as a result, is still funny today. Jon Stewart, however, proves to be an exception.
Maybe it’s because the Bush Administration hasn’t done much progress, or maybe it’s because Jon has a time capsule. Either way, it’s clear that this performance could air tomorrow and not seem dated.
