They just don’t make toys like the used to. It’s hard to believe that you could buy your kids a realistic toy machine gun for $3 at one point in history.
If this toy was produced today it would be illegal to let kids play with it. At least under current US laws.
Since I was a 90’s kid the closest we ever got to playing with real guns were Nerf guns that shot foam darts. The machine gun versions of them were upwards of $60 dollars so my parents couldn’t afford them; reloading the cheaper 4-shot Nerf gun I had was such a pain in the ass.
Now that I see this, I kind of feel like I missed out on a lot more fun. Adjusted for inflation, these guns would be around $30 in the store today.
