Competitors to the Apple iPad are coming thick and fast now. Few have managed to truly compete as of yet, but there is hope that a few of the tablets now emerging will give the iPad a run for its money.
This video shows the HP TouchPad in all its glory. If you hadn’t already guessed it’s the first tablet from Hewlett-Packard, and it’s powered by WebOS rather than iOS, Android, or Windows 7.
The HP TouchPad has been in development for over a year but is now almost ready for store shelves. It goes on sale (from $499.99) in the U.S. on July 1, with pre-orders in both North America and Europe from Jun 19.
In terms of specs and features the HP TouchPad is very similar to the iPad. And it also costs around the same price. One big difference is its support of Adobe Flash, which could tempt many people into choosing it over the iPad.
