We dogged on dolphins in a recent post, but there’s no denying that these marine mammals are clever critters. Here we see the bottlenose dolphins’ unique brand of hunting.
It’s a little hard for those flippers to hold spears or other hunting implements, so these dolphins have to use their heads. We see one dolphin stir up mud circles, seemingly trapping his favorite fishy treats.
These “trapped” snacks panic, jumping out of the water in fear … right into the mouths of the dolphin’s waiting friends. You don’t get fish much fresher than that!
I think I need to make some dolphin friends. This looks a lot more successful than using bait and hooks!
