CNN Hologram Television Video | Jessica Yellin Becomes Princess Leia From Star Wars

I watched quite a few different television channels over the course of 2008 Presidential Election night on November 4th, and they all attempted to use new technology.

Most had gone with huge touch screens mimicking Minority Report but CNN went one step further: they turned Jessica Yellin in to Princess Leia from Star Wars, minus the hair buns.

I’ve got no idea how they achieved this and no real idea what purpose it served either, except for making the anchor feel less lonely, but it’s cool nonetheless.

Surely the next stage would be to have the reporters holograms beamed directly in to our living rooms? Or even President elect, Barack Obama himself. Now that I’d love to see.
