According to a press release from the court, US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had surgery for the early stages of pancreatic cancer and will be remaining in the hospital for a week or just over.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the only woman on the nation’s highest court and has proven herself to be one of its most consistent liberal voices. She was appointed by President Clinton back in 1993 and was the second woman to be appointed.
You may recall Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch who gained attention with his famous Last Lecture. He also had pancreatic cancer and lost his battle with it last year.
