The first thing I do every morning is make myself a cup of coffee. Well actually that’s a lie, the first thing I do is get out of bed and go to the toilet. Then I wander bleary-eyed into the kitchen and make myself a cup of coffee.
What I really need is some sort of futuristic robot capable of making me a cup of coffee while I stay in bed and read the newspaper. And it would help if the robot was cute and very cool. Which could obviously never happen.
Except it sort of already has. This video shows a cute and also slightly creepy robot making her owner a cup of coffee. She fetches the cup, grinds the beans, boils the water, and filters the coffee until it’s perfect.
Clearly, this robot had to be set to do one task at a time but it shows it’s entirely possible for a machine to make a nice cup of coffee in the morning. And I don’t mean a coffee machine because they just don’t cut it against a robot.
