Hollywood seems to be a little light on ideas these days. If it’s not translating comic books and TV shows for the big screen, it’s simply remaking the movies it produced decades ago. And so we have a new version of Conan the Barbarian scheduled for release later this year.
Of course it all beggars the question: why? I’ll wager that Jason Momoa can’t top the performance of Arnold Schwarzenegger. And the directing services of Marcus Nispel, the man behind the recent lackluster remakes of Friday the 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, don’t fill me with confidence.
The trailer is also a bit terrible. Where’s the action?
I’m not very excited by the prospect, but Conan the Barbarian will hit American screens this August.
