Steven Soderbergh is a great director, so I will see Contagion. However, there is a feeling that we’ve seen and done all this before. After all, I can name lots of films which have covered the outbreak of a virus.
What Contagion has going for it is a host of big-name stars: Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston and more are all present and correct. And that’s one hell of a line-up.
But a good cast does not a good movie make. As these guys, who were fortunate enough to attend an advance screening, explain.
I have to say I find these two really bloody annoying. One is too skinny, overuses his hands, and keeps looking at his pal for guidance, and the other has long hair, a pedo mustache, and not much to say.
Still, they deliver a decent review of a movie before it has been released, so I’ll forgive them for being dorks.
