The State of New Jersey has halted sales by Tesla Motors. This has caused somewhat of an argument between Tesla and its supporters against local car dealers.
The two sides of this argument are diametrically opposed. But in truth both sides are at fault.
It isn’t as though New Jersey has banned Tesla cars altogether. It’s just that the company’s present method of selling vehicles directly to consumers is considered unlawful.
Ultimately, the law should probably be changed to allow any car manufacturer to sell directly to consumers. Then it’s a level playing field, with no one able to accuse Tesla of having an unfair advantage.
