Ever since Mad Men rated through the roof, networks have realized the power of the period piece. ABC’s signed on for Pan Am, and NBC’s throwing its hat in the ring with The Playboy Club.
But the series based on Hugh Heffner’s famous club is already raising eyebrows, with NBC’s Utah arm deciding to keep it off its state’s TV.
Given its position on a major American TV network we’re not likely to see anything too salacious, but it seems the power of suggestion is pretty potent.
Something tells me the controversy won’t do the program any harm, and that the poor people of Utah will resort to renting the DVDs!
