Short films are often unwatchable piles of pretentious nonsense. But this one, titled Fresh Guacamole, is actually rather good.
It’s also the shortest short film ever to be nominated for an Academy Award. OK, so it didn’t win, but even being recognized in such a way is an impressive boast.
Fresh Guacamole is an animated short in which a guy prepares fresh guacamole. Except none of the ingredients are as they should be, with all of the real ingredients replaced by everyday objects.
The stop-motion animation is immaculate and the sound effects are perfect. It’s this attention to detail which makes Fresh Guacamole a short I could watch again and again.
