Japan is one of those countries most people want to visit in their lifetime. It looks exotic and different, and there will definitely be an element of culture shock accompanying any visit.

The question many people ask is, do you need to learn Japanese to go to Japan? And the answer is No. It’s good to know some key words and phrases, but you should be able to get by.

This video shows one woman’s experience of travelling to Japan. She communicates almost entirely using ili, an instant translator.

It appears to work rather well, but the problem is when people answer back in their native language, because you then can’t understand the reply! Still, Japan looks amazing.
