Even though other senators are calling the move “unfair,” Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, the man previously accused of selling Obama’s Senate seat, has just appointed a replacement for Obama:
Roland Burris.
Burris, who was previously Attorney General of Illinois from 1991 to 1995, has a clean record. Blago, who was predicted to be impeached in mid-February, sees this appointment as valid even though officials don’t. As Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid says, “This is not about Mr. Burris, it is about the integrity of [Blago].”
By looking at the clip, it’s hard to tell if Roland Burris is blinded by his joy or indeed corrupt himself. “In this legal process, you’re innocent until proven guilty,” he says while smiling.
