Have you ever wanted your car to feel more like home? Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson did, so he set about revamping his Mercedes-Benz. He enlisted the help of a snooty French designer, but it soon became apparent this would be no ordinary car makeover.
You see, Jeremy wanted to pull out the regular seats and replace them with wing back chairs. He felt a wooden floor would be a lot more inviting than the standard kind. And surely there’s room in every car for a wood-burning stove.
As crazy as it sounds, Jeremy did get his dream car. Then it was time for the Top Gear team to test it. In the video below, Richard Hammond and James May take Jeremy’s homely Merc for a spin. They soon discover wing back chairs make driving very difficult indeed!
