I really thought we past this type of intolerance but apparently some parts of Brazil are clearly unrealistically orthodox when it comes to dressing for school. Take Geisy Arruda, for example, who was recently expelled for indirectly starting a riot just for wearing a mini-skirt.
Here in America, we let 20 year-olds dress how they want to. Maybe it’s just me, but rape threats by mobs aren’t usually a problem for people at my university.
You hear about this type of injustice from Middle Eastern countries, but it really surprised me that a part of Brazil would be this intolerant. Last time I checked the country was known for plastic surgery, lavish parades, and their famous bikinis.
Geisy had to lock herself in one of her teachers rooms to prevent from getting hurt by mobs of people screaming, “Let her out Professor, we want to rape her!” As you can see in the above video she was eventually escorted out by police.
