Not to long ago, I shared a video of an extremist group of hippies crying over dead trees. You could almost call this video a continuation of that one. In it, Penn and Teller (yep the 90’s magicians) get hundreds of so-called “environmentalists” to sign a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide…
also known as water.
Of course, the point of this video wasn’t to poke fun at environmentalists (though Penn and Teller happen to think global warming is a myth). It was set out to make you question things before you sign them. Which is sadly what most people will do if it’s popular.
This particular hoax has been around since the late 80’s when 3 students at UCSC decided it would be funny to pass out fliers warning people of DHMO. In 1998, DHMO.org was setup as another prank and has since been mentioned on comedy shows like South Park.
