Movie director Michael Bay is known for over-the-top action in his films, but his appearance at CES 2014 was more of an embarrassing whimper than a powerful explosion.
Bay was due to guest on stage during the Samsung press event. He was introduced and walked on as planned, but then everything went wrong.
He spoke over Samsung’s Executive Vice-President, and then completely failed to read the teleprompter in front of him. After a couple of garbled sentences he walked off the stage with his head bowed.
This is hilarious. Michael Bay isn’t highly regarded in Hollywood, so to see him taken down a peg or two is brilliant. And Samsung got a load of free press despite none of their new products being worthy of headlines.
