Sexism is still alive and well, with many men still thinking they’re somehow better than females. Still, it could be worse, it could still be the 1950s.
This video shows a compilation of clips from television commercials shown in the 1950s and 1960s, all of which have two things in common.
1. The men are sexist pigs having a go at their wives. 2. They’re complaining about the state of their coffee, which, to be fair, probably did suck back then.
It’s bizarre to think that not so long ago this was perfectly acceptable behavior. Not only that, but this kind of dismissive language used by men towards women sold products.
