Is Vaclav Klaus a thief? It certainly seems that way after footage from a press conference was released. This video shows the Czech president quietly pocketing a pen while Chilean president Sebastian Pinera chats.
We see Klaus picking up the pen, transferring it from one hand to the other, and slipping it into his pocket with a smug smile. He then closes the pen box, almost as if to hide the evidence!
The official word from the Czech president’s spokesperson is that this was simply a common pen that presidents receive during state visits. However it’s emerged that it was actually encrusted with semi-precious lapis lazuli stones. That doesn’t sound so common to me!
