The first pictures of Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln have leaked. But this isn’t them. Err, in fact, I’m not quite sure what this is, actually.
Steven Spielberg is making a new film called Lincoln, which, as the title suggests, tells the story of Abraham Lincoln in the final few months of his life before John Wilkes-Booth assassinates him.
If I’m honest I don’t quite know what is going on here. It looks like it’s some guy playing Daniel Day-Lewis playing his character from There Will Be Blood playing Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln. But that seems unlikely.
Regardless, Day-Lewis is a great choice for Lincoln. This is one actor who can throw himself into any role and make it his own. And I suspect he will inhabit the ghost of Lincoln under Spielberg’s directorship.
