David Letterman hasn’t really had a good year. Not only was he criticized over a few choice jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughters, he’s also been forced to admit having affairs with female co-workers. What a naughty man.
Still, Letterman hasn’t shied away from the situations he’s found himself in. He’s carried on presenting The Late Show throughout, and has also apologized to all those he has affected with his behavior. Surely that’s the sign of a good man.
Letterman apologized to, first his wife Regina Letterman, who he has no doubt caused a lot of anguish after his misdemeanors were exposed, second his female co-workers at Worldwide Pants, and third, Sarah Palin… again.
I think that should be the end of it now, at least in public. Letterman is obviously no angel but that doesn’t mean he should be hounded for years for what he’s done. If he, his wife, and co-workers ca move on, then so should we all be able to.
