This is a video review of Dead Island, a new video game on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, by PlayrBitz. The game is out today in the U.S. with a European and Japanese release to follow.
This guy seems to like Dead Island, but I have to say I’m not convinced. Haven’t we seen this all before? There doesn’t seem to be anything particularly fresh or innovative on show here.
It’s like an amalgamation of Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, and Borderlands. While all three of those games are highly playable, why would you want a title that copies elements from each and throws them together randomly?
At the end of the day I don’t like survival horror games, which is the genre Dead Island fits into. Call me a wuss but I don’t like the feeling of fighting for my own life, whether it be for real, in a dream, or in a video game.
