DemocracyNow.com Video | Utah Student Disrupts Government Auction Saving 22,000 Acres

One university student against the big oil companies. Kudos to you, Mr. DeChristopher.

“Nobody else has infiltrated a government auction to cause so much turmoil, according to officials at the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.” – BusinessWeek.com

I’m surprised they haven’t had any of the people who were protesting outside on television saying, “I wish I would have thought of that.” It is something quite simple (in theory) and yet it took one university student with the balls to do it.

According to the report from BusinessWeek.com (link above), he wasn’t actually planning on doing that straight away anyway.

What I’m wondering is what kind of punishment the guy who handed him the paddle is going to get.
