Disgusting Icelandic Food Video | Rotten Shark? No Thanks!

24 sec read

Foreign cultures often have unique delicacies that make me turn up my nose. Fancy some snails? What about bull testicles? Hakarl anyone? The Icelandic name makes it sound scrumptious, but if you agree to a plate you’ll taste rotten shark.

That’s right, hakarl is stored for six months to rot to just the right level of stinky goodness. Under a lesser chef the dish will make you very sick, or even kill you, but I hear these guys know what they’re doing.

The Icelandic foodies seem to enjoy it, even celebrating the dish in a lavish party. Each to their own I suppose, but I think I’ll stick with fish and chips.
