On Sunday, November 5, 2017, a gunman shot and killed 26 people in a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
The gunman, Devin Patrick Kelley, used an automatic weapon to shoot indiscriminately into the congregation, killing dozens, and injuring scores more.
There are clearly too many guns in the United States, and until something is done to reduce those numbers these mass shootings will continue to happen. And yet Donald Trump doesn’t see the connection.
When asked about the Texas shooting he said it was a “mental health problem” and nothing to do with guns. Then why do other countries with mental health issues but less guns not experience these mass shootings?
