Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday – or at least be if he were still alive. The Children’s author, full name Theodor Seuss Geisel, would have been 105-years-old. Even Google has commemorated the day by changing its logo.
Dr. Seuss wrote over 60 children’s books, the most famous of which are The Cat In The Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. This YouTube video shows the full The Cat In The Hat song from the animated feature film based on the book.
I have to admit to not knowing much about Dr. Seuss and having never read any of his books, mainly because I’m not American and it seems to be only the U.S. where his work is admired to such a degree.
Approaching Dr. Seuss work at this time of my life makes me wonder what all the fuss is about. But then that’s surely missing the point. Dr Seuss’ books have brought joy to millions of young kids and for that his life should be celebrated.
