If you’re a fan of Cap’n Crunch then you should probably enjoy eating it while you can. It appears Quaker Oats is killing off its long-lived and long-loved breakfast cereal.
The reasons for this are unclear. Some say it’s because Cap’n Crunch just isn’t as popular now as it once was, and sales have fallen so much it’s not worth marketing the cereal any more.
Others suggest it’s because of pressure from activists regarding the high level of sugar in a typical bowl of Cap’n Crunch, and there indeed 12 grams of sugar in each serving, which is around half the recommended daily intake for kids.
Either way, fans of the super crunchy cereal will probably soon have to find something else to get their digestive systems going in the morning. Can I suggest strong black coffee? Yes, the kids will love it.
