Fracking is a rather controversial way of extracting natural gas from under the ground. This video attempts to explain the technique, and detail the positives and negatives of hydraulic fracturing.
There is no doubt that fracking is one solution to the energy crisis, but it’s not a longterm solution, and the negatives would appear to outweigh the positives.
Do we really want to risk contaminating our water supply? Or waste so much water extracting natural gas? Who is happy about all of the chemicals being pumped into the ground beneath their feet?
Fracking is already popular in the U.S. and there are plans afoot to start using the process in the U.K. and other countries around the world too.
