If you’re over a certain age you’ll probably remember the Falklands War that took place in 1982. On one side were the British, and on the other side, Argentina.

This video explains how the Falklands War came to be, tracking its history right back to when the Falkland Islands were first discovered in 1764.

As a Brit I always thought the Falklands War was absolutely pointless. Who cares who owns this little patch of land off the east coast of South America.

This war only happened because the leaders of both Argentina and the UK needed a victory to shore up public support. And it ended up working rather well for Margaret Thatcher.
