It looks like Ellen DeGeneres will have “a day job and a night job.” This morning, it was revealed on her show that she would replace Paula Abdul as the next American Idol judge.
As you can tell from this clip, fans on her show went crazy during the announcement. However, the major media didn’t take her word seriously until an actual press release was made available just hours ago.
As a fan of both American Idol and Ellen, I have to say that this announcement is truly a blessing for the show. Paula, as nice as she may be in every episode of Idol, just doesn’t have nearly as much flare as Ellen does in her show. Hopefully her humor will translate to reality TV well.
Finally, we have another American Idol panelist who isn’t afraid to criticize talentless singers. I, for one, haven’t been this excited about American Idol in years.
