Emma Roberts was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after a physical altercation between her and her boyfriend left him with bruises and a bloody nose.
She has since been pictured with scratches and bruises on her legs and arms, so it looks as if the celebrity couple had quite the tussle in their Montreal hotel room.
If this does turn out to be a case of domestic violence then Roberts should be treated as harshly as a man would were the roles reversed.
However, the first step is persuading her boyfriend to bring charges against her, and that won’t be easy given the high-profile, public nature of the pair’s relationship.
