England has a reputation for putting out football songs, with league teams doing so when they reach the F.A. Cup Final, and the England national team doing so for every World Cup and important championship.
This year is no exception, with the official England song for the 2010 World Cup coming from Dizzee Rascal and James Corden, It’s called Shout, and it’s partly based on the Tears for Fears song of the same name.
Dizzee, Corden, and an assembled group of England football fans performed the song live during the Britain’s Got Talent final last night. And the response has been mostly positive.
I quite like the song, and it’s certainly catchy. However, I’m not so sure about some of the lyrics, especially the line, “Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough.” Which is a little aggressive if you ask me.
