In 2011, a New York photographer named Walter Chang quit his job and got on a plane to Nepal. He didn’t return to the United States for three whole years.
Chang spent those three years backpacking around the world, visiting a total of 60 countries, including China and India. This video shows just a soupcon of his experiences.
Travelling isn’t cheap, so in order to stay away for so long Chang backpacked and took long-distance train rides. He contracted food poisoning, was robbed, and almost died when his car flipped in Namibia.
Still, he got through it all, and is now back home. Travelling the world is the dream of many people, but Chang actually did it.
