To be honest this doesn’t just apply to America’s Got Talent. It’s also an accurate depiction of every episode of Britain’s Got Talent too.
It’s the Simon Cowell formula. Audition a bunch of hopefuls, and then put the really good singers and really bad singers on TV. And bonus points if you can find a good singer who looks like shit.
The thing is, people watch this shit, and Simon Cowell has got rich as a result. So as much as we may scorn reality shows, they work for the people at the top.
