Prepare to grab your tissues. A film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer’s weepy novel Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close is about to hit movie screens.
This has all the makings of a classic tearjerker. There’s a bright young boy whose father died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and his daddy’s played by Tom Hanks. You know how he made you cry in Forrest Gump!
It could be overly sentimental but its talented cast, which includes Sandra Bullock, Max Von Sydow, and James Gandolfini, might just ensure it doesn’t drip with saccharine.
We can give our verdict when it hits American movie screens on December 25.
