Niki Lauda, an absolute legend of Formula One and racing in general, recently died at the age of 70. While this is no great age, considering what happened to Lauda in the 1970s, it’s an amazing innings.
In 1976, Niki Lauda was involved in a horrendous crash that saw him almost burned to death in his seat. However, not only did he survive, but he went onto race again weeks later.
His death hit the F1 world hard, especially Lewis Hamilton, who considered Lauda as both a friend and a mentor.
This video shows how Hamilton and the rest of the current Formula One family paid tribute to Niki Lauda at the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix.
