Some video game music is absolutely epic. Especially back in the days when 8-bit music was standard. However, not all songs are completely original.
This video shows why some video game music sounds so familiar. Basically, it’s because it has been “influenced” by existing pop and rock songs.
Some of these sound so familiar that they’re almost exact copies. Not that I’m accusing anyone of musical plagiarism, obviously.
It could just be that there are only so many basslines and musical arrangements in the world, and so these are similar purely by coincidence. We’ll let you be the judge.
