Brad Pitt and the rest of the cast and crew of World War Z have begun filming in Glasgow, Scotland, which has been transformed into a Philadelphia of the future for the purposes of the movie.
This movie adaptation is based on World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War, a novel by Max Brooks from 2006. The book has a ton of fans, and Paramount Pictures is obviously trying to capitalize on this.
The book tells the story of a U.N. worker traveling the globe detailing how humans lost the war to zombies. However, the synopsis for the film suggests a slight difference, with Pitt’s character trying to prevent humanity from losing.
I’m going to read the book before the film is released – on Dec. 21, 2012 – because I always love seeing a book brought to life on the big screen.
