Have you ever considered how deep the ocean all around actually is? I suspect not, as most of us only ever either see it from the shore, swim on its surface, or get transported across it.
However, it turns out that the deepest parts of the ocean are extremely deep. So much so you won’t be able to get your head around the depths involved.
Even Mount Everest, the tallest mountain on Earth, would comfortably fit under the surface. Which is mindblowing.
Even more mind-blowing is the fact that, despite the incredible depth of the ocean, humans have reached the ocean floor. And in 1960 too, when submarine technology wasn’t as advanced as it is now.
