I’ll admit, I didn’t watch this entire clip due to it’s graphic nature. Teammates were stunned when Jeremy Lusk crashed while attempting this back flip a few days ago; a crash that would later prove to be fatal.
This is a sad day for many motocross fans and an even more horrible one for Lusk’s wife. The 2008 X Games gold medalist is dead at the young age of 24.
As you can tell by the video, Lusk sustained head injuries at this Costa Rican X-Nights competition. His team (Metal Mulisha) rushed to his aid and he was taken to Calderon Hospital ICU in San Jose where he was pronounced dead at 11pm yesterday.
It should be noted that when Jeremy was performing this same Heart Attack back flip trick back in 2007, he crashed in a similar fashion and hadn’t tried the trick on a dirt track ever. “I was a little scared of it,” he commented.
I can’t speak for the man, but I’m sure Lusk left this world doing what he loved to do.
