Most of us look at food as a tasty way to beat those hunger pangs. But to some, it’s much more than that. It’s the materials they use to create some of the most unique, and delicious, art I’ve ever seen.
Clearly these folks never learned that it’s rude to play with their food. But it’s so fascinating to watch, I’m willing to forgive their bad manners!
Super Size Me With Ketchup and Fries
For most of us French fries and ketchup would be lunch. But they inspire this guy to create a homage to Super Size Me filmmaker Morgan Spurlock. It apparently took 10 packets of ketchup and about an hour of his time, to produce this amazing result.
Bubble Gum Artist Jamie Marraccini
This art is as delightful as it is disgusting. Jamie Marraccini is a bubble gum artist, creating colorful canvases from pre-chewed gum. He’s not picky: he’ll work with his own gum, the gum of his friends, or even his fans’.
His work looks great, and it’s certainly better than hiding your gum underneath your desk!
Food Art from Vik Muniz
Brazilian American artist isn’t fussy when it comes to materials. Chocolate, spaghetti, and caviar are just some of the foods he’s used to create stunning portraits of Elvis Presley, Marlon Brando, and the Mona Lisa.
His works have earned him worldwide acclaim, and it’s not hard to see why.
Britney Spears With Chewed-Up Food
Phil Hansen is one of our favorite food artists at Web TV Hub. Here he creates an uncanny likeness of Britney Spears by chewing up Starbucks pastries and spitting them out.
Yes it’s the kind of thing you’d spank your kids for. But despite the gross out factor, it’s still very cool.
Cucumber Marilyn Monroe
I know, Britney Spears and chewed up food are equally disgusting. For something a little more palatable here we have a portrait of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe created with cucumbers.
This artist was even classy enough to use a knife, not his mouth, to prepare his paints.
