While covering the Daytona 500, I argued the case for Formula One being far superior, but a lack of overtaking and excitement has hurt the sport in recent years. These new rule changes are designed to bring back the sense that the drivers rather than the cars are responsible for the results.
Last year saw Lewis Hamilton win the F1 World Championship, and being British, I was over the moon. The 2009 season looks set to test his skills as a driver much more than last season. Can he do it again? I hope so.
