According to TheWashingtonPost.com, “A US Airways flight…went down in the Hudson River this afternoon with 155 passengers and crew on board, and rescuers moved quickly to remove everyone from the plane as it gradually settled into the frigid water.”
What has been called “a potentially tragic incident” has, thankfully, gone without any fatalities or – as far as anyone knows at this point – without any serious injuries. A few people were taken to hospital, but everyone is reporting in as stable.
It would seem that the general consensus as to the cause of the plane going down was that they hit one or more birds on takeoff.
