Full Official Total Recall 2012 Trailer Video | Special Effects-Laden Remake Coming Soon

Having already seen the teaser last week, now it’s time for the full official Total Recall trailer. And this 2012 version is very different from the 1990 version.

Both films share the same source material, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale by Philip K. Dick. But the style employed to bring the book to life is very different between the old and new films.

The 2012 version of Total Recall, which is due to be released in the U.S. on August 3, noticeably relies on more special effects. Partly because of the technology now available, and partly because of the increased budget.

While the original still stands up to scrutiny today I must admit I’m excited about this new version. The same compelling story told for a new generation may actually work. Let’s hope so.
