What happens when a cat faces off against a hairdryer blowing hot air? Absolute carnage.
This cat doesn’t run at the first sign of the noise like most other cats would. Instead it stands and fights, actually standing upright on its hind legs for a long while as it shadow boxes the unseen enemy. Unseen to us, at least.
I haven’t seen anyone else suggest this but I have a hunch the cat is visually seeing the hot air in a way we humans can’t. So while we merely feel the warm gust, the cat is seeing something more solid.
This would explain why he’s batting at it as if it’s actually something he may be able to grab hold of. OK, perhaps that theory is a little out there but our eyesight is terrible compared to our feline brethren.
