The original Home Alone movie is an absolute classic. It has it all: it’s set at Christmas, has a child in peril, and a couple of incompetent robbers out to get him.
However, Kevin McCallister, the child who gets left home alone, turns out to be something of an evil genius, and sets booby traps all around the house.

All of Kevin’s booby traps would have hurt, but the big nail through the foot gets me every time, making me cringe at the thought of the pain.
