If you haven’t heard by now, Congress along with President Bush passed the $700 billion bailout plan today. The decision took days to make and was on the news almost all afternoon.
However, in this new Sprint ad, it shows how easy it would have been if firemen had handled the situation.
Of course the solution to the budget deficit isn’t really “balance it,” but the humor is enough to make you realize that some bills Congress passes take nothing more than common sense. Sometimes the formalities are only needed to tack on “pork” (I’m sure Utah needs $1 million to control their cricket population).
According to a recent poll done by the Associated Press, the majority of Americans opposed the bailout. Yet, it was somehow still passed. Maybe the $6.6 billion in pork attached had something to do with it.
